KARANGAHAPE BUSINESS MEN

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Karangahape Road Business Promotion Society, held to-day at Nairn's Tea Rooms, was well attended. The president. Mr. M. J. Bennett, occupied the chair. The speaker of the day was Mr. J. W. Shaw, M.A., who delivered an address upon the subject: "What Our Schools are Trying To Do." At its conclusion a hearty vote of thanks was carried by acclamation.

Mr. Bern. Bailey contributed a vocal solo, "Temple Bells," being accompanied by Miss Asher.
