JESSE JAMES HOIS AGAIN. BANKRUPT'S SCOPE OF DEALINGS. In March last the-public examination of Jesse James Hills was commenced in regard to his dealings and the part he played as agent for his wife, and yesterday the' examination of bankrupt was continued before Mr. Justice- Herdman in the Supreme Court. Hills wa sadjudicated bankrupt in October, 1924, and the want of further information was the cause of the adjournment. Mr. Paterson. conducted the examination, Mr. Cocker appeared for the bankrupt, and Mr. Cooney represented a creditor. » . Bankrupt said he had not done any work'- since his bankruptcy because he Lad enough to do looking after his wife's interests. Mr. Paterson: Mrs. Hills has very little to do with these matters—she just signs what she is asked to sign, doesn't she? Bankrupt: She generally asks what it is about, but she is not much interested in financial matters. Bankrupt stated that some years ago his wife owned some property at Strathmore, Taranaki. That was sold and his wife lent him the money. He admitted that he had banking accounts in Hawera, Patea, Palmerston,. North, Eltham, Stratford,. Inglewood and Christ, church.
