XEW PLYMOUTH, Monday

The completion of the • Taranaki Power Board's woAs at Tariki whs ■brought appreciably nearer to-day, when the Motokawa tunnel, one and three-quarter miles long, was pierced. The tunnel will eventually convey water from the Manganui River to turbines developing 4000 h.p. The engineer stated to-night that there was a possibility of the scheme being in operation before Christmas.
