MANUREWA.

ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING

The annual meeting of the Presbyterian Church's home mission station, which embraces the districts of Manurewn. Weynioutli. Alfriston and Brookbj-. was held in the Manui-pwa public hall "on Wednesday evening. The Rev. T. 11. Roseveare of I'apatoptoe, Moderator, presided over an attendance of about forty.

The report on the church building fund showpd that a valuable unencumbered building site (J-acre), also £174 in cash and promises amounting to a further £75, were to the credit of the fund. It is hoped to commence the erection of n church in the near future.

The Moderator tendered his congratulations to the various organisations on the healthy progress which their respective rpports indicated that they had made and he paid special tribute to the valuable Sunday School and other church work done in We.rmouth, Alfriston and Brookby. He also referred to the excellent service rendered to the church by Mr. C. E. Perkins, as minister to the district. It was unanimously decided, amid enthusiasm, to request the retention of Mr. Perkins as minister for a further period. The following board of managers was elected: —Messrs. A. Grassie.k. H. Weir. Woods. Thompson, E. Wall. P. M. Pattullo, C. S. McCallum, and Mac Gill, gun.
