TAKANINI RATEPAYERS AGREE

ENTHUSIASM FOR CONCRETE. There was an attendance of about 45 ratepayers at a similar meeting held at Takanini last evening. Mr. C. S. McCallum, the riding member, introduced the chairman of the County Council (Mr. F. M. Waters) and the engineer (Mr. J. R. Page). His suggestion that temporary footpaths ■be formed for the safety of school children was favourably commented upon by several speakers. Mr. J. Fleming congratulated tho chairman on the success of his arduous work in bringing the paving of the road to its present state of imminent finality. His motion: "That this representative meeting of ratepayers in this district supports the poll and pledges itself to do its utmost to record every vote oa the 29th instant," was seconded by Mr. Atkinson and carried unanimously amid enthusiasm. A committee was formed t« expedite the voting on polhng da_>
