THE LYTTELTON WATERSIDE.

SATURDAY WORK BALLOT. FAVOURS HALF-DAY OFF. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. As a result of the ballot taken recently by the Lyttelton watersiders on the question of resuming work on Saturday afternoons, the men will continue to cease work at noon on Saturdays. Although the figures of the ballot have not been officially disclosed, it is said that a much larger percentage voted this time in favour of reverting to the old practice of working on Saturday afternoons than on the previous occasion, when the voting was 500 to 81 against the proposal.
