REMUERA LIBRARY.
HEARING COMPLETION. FINE LARGE BUILDING. The new library at Remuera should be ready to open within a month. It is at the corner of Vincent Avenue and Bemuera Road and is about 100 yards from the present library. An inspection of the building was made this morning by the Mayor, Mr. George Baildon, and by Miss E. Melville and the city librarian. It was found that the work was well advanced and the contract was liearing completion. The fittings and shelves for the library were kejng installed; and the grounds were being cleaned up outside and divided by footpaths. The new library is a part of the city library scheme according to which each of the leading suburban areas is being provided with a library hall and lending and reference departments. The Remuera library is designed on a slightly larger scale than the Parnell and Grey Lynn libraries, which have both been opened within the last two years, and has a larger lecture hall.
