ENGINE BACK FIRES.
LAUNCH CABIN ABLAZE.

It appears that left town in his uncle's launch, Flora, after lunch, and later aac-hc-red. owing to the engine stoppinc. On re-starting the engine it back-fired and Gray ws» knocked down and rendered unconscious. The boy s-iates that when he W* covered the cabin was in fames, «nd, in ' attempting to escape, he became jammed. Finally lie managed to g« into the dinghy and was picked up by saline bors who brought him back te town, where ho reot-ived medical arteH" tion and was taken to the hospital. He is now reported to be progressing as well a= cnind be expected, thouga his condition is critical.
