The Shansi forces are now holding their own against the Kuo-min Chun invaders, while other Wu Pei-iu forces are advancing against Kuo-min Chun (National Army J. Shansi shell tire caused the blowing up of large supplies of Kuo-min Chun ammunition at Tatung station, in northern Shansi. Acute food shortage is reported at Kalgain which is the headquarters of the Kuo-min Chun. Several members of the Cabinet, in addition to Mr. Wellington Koo, have now taken up the portfolios, hence the political situation is somewhat better though it is not expected that Yen will remain Premier for long.— (A. and N.Z.)
