Movements of vessels under the flag of the Union Company are announced as follow:— The Waintil is expected to arrive at Auckland late to-morrow afternoon from East Coast, ports. She will berth at the Prince's wharf. The Kuton is in load at Dunedin about Wednesday for Auckland, via ports. The Kurow was to leave Tiruaru to-day .for Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland. The steamer Tirq.a sailed tor Gisborne this morning. * The Canopus, which arrived from Westport this morning, is berthed at the Western wharf. j TOFCA FOR SUVA. Taking passengers, mail, and cargo, the Union Company's island steamer Tofua sailed from Auckland for Fijian, Tongau, and Samoan oorts this morning. BARON MURRAY SAILED. In continuation of her voyage from East Canadian ports, the steamer Baron Murray left Auckland for Wellington this morning. Her other discharging ports are Lyttelton, Dunedin and Sydney. HINEMOA LEFT NIUE. Spedding, Ltd., advise that the Government steamer Hiueinoa left Niue Island for Auckland at S p.m. ou June 16. She is bringing a cargo of copra and 135 cases ot 1 fruit, being due to arrive at this port on June 23. THE MESOPOTAMIA. Having completed her boiler repairs, the steamer Mesopotamia is to sail from Auckland for Westport at S o'clock this evening. After bunkering at the coal port she is to proceed to Makatea Island to load phosphate for Honolulu. MAUNGANUI FROM SYDNEY. Cabled information reports the departure from Sydney yesterday afternoon of the Union Company's inter-colonial steamer Maunganui for Auckland. She is expected to arrive at this port ou Tuesday morning. | KAURI FROM GEELONG. An uneventful voyage across the Tasman was experienced by the Union Company's steamer Kauri, which arrived at Auckland from Geelong yesterday afternoon. This vessel, which is unloading her grain cargo at the Queen's wharf, is expected to sail about Tuesday next for Newcastle. WINGATCI IN DOCK. For cleaning and painting, the Union Company's steamer Wlngatui was docked this morning. On undoeking this afternoon she will berth at the King's wharf to load for southern ports. She is to sail at 5 p.m. on Monday next. WAIKAWA BERTHED. After spending- several weeks at an anchorage iin the stream, the Union Company's steamer Waikawa berthed at the Prince's wha'f this morning. It is expected that she will be dispatched for Newcastle at an early date. CROSSHILL FROM MAKATEA. To the agency of Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlane, the steamer Crossbill is expected to arrive at Auckland from Makatea Island at 11 o'clock to-night. This vessel, which brings i cargo of phosphate, will berth at the King's wharf at 9 a.m. tomorrow. NIAGARA ON MONDAY MORNING. En route from Vancouver, via the usual Island ports the Union Company's Royal mail steamer Niagara is expected to arrive at Auckland at 10 o'clock on Monday morning. After pratique has been granted she will berth at the Prince's wharf. The Niagara is announced to resume her voyage to Sydney at 10 o'clock ou Monday evening. WAIPIRO TO LOAD GUANO. It is announced by the Union Company that the Waipori has been fixed to load at Greymouth about Friday next for Anckland. On completion of her discharge at this port, the Waipori will probably proceed to Nomea and Wnlpole Island to load guano for NewZealand. NGAKUTA ARRIVES MONDAY. Bringing a cargo of fruit from Cook Islands, the Union Company's steamer Ngakuta is expected to arrive at Auckland from Rarotonga at 6 a.m. on Monday. She will berth at the Prince's wharf. After discharge at Auckland the Ngakuta wiP probably proceed to Portland to . load cement for Wellington. MAHENO'S SAILING TIMES. Information received by the local office of the Union Co. states that the Maheno is to sail from Wellington for Sydney at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 9. After that date she will take her departure from i Sydney. Wellington and Auckland at noon on sailing days. THE KAIMANAWA. A departure from Auckland last evening was the Union Company's steamer Kaimanaw T a for Portland, where she will load cement fot Plymouth This steamer is to load at Westport. about Wednesday next for Auckland and after discharge at this port is to proceed to Fiji. FLOATING CRANE RAPAKI. Further details regarding the Lyttelton Harbour Board's 80-ton floating crane Rapaki, at present on her way to Lyttelton under her own steam, show that her actual draughts, made ns the result of tests under voyage conditions, are:—Forward. 7ft 2in; aft. 12ft 51n: mean, Oft 9Jin; this represents a displacement of 1250 tons. Under full power over _ measured mile the Rapaki made 8.16 knots: the builders' specifications called for 7 knots, and the minimum requirements os specified by the board were' 4 knots. The contractors estimated that the Rapaki would make the passage from the Clyde to Lyttelton in 75 days. . IMPROVED ACCOMMODATION. Since the Italian steamer Re d'ltalia was last in Australian waters she has been totally refitted, and Italian migrants coming to Australia now travel under greatlyimproved conditions Formerly the Re d'ltalia carried first, second, and thirdclass passengers, but now she has been altered and refitted as a one-class ship. In earlier voyage the third-class passengers were 1 accommodated in the upper hold, which was converted especially for their use. Now all the passenger accommodation is on deck. The passengers have the*full use of any portion of the decks, both upper and lower. A dining saloon and all conveniences are available; while there is a well-equipped hospital on board. MESS TABLE GOSSIP. Captain M. McKenzie, who has been on holiday, has joined the Karma as master, relieving Captain S. B. Page for instruction. Mr. J. J. Barnard has joined the Kamo . as second officer, relieving Mr. T. A Mack for holiday leave. The Kaitoke recommlssioned at Auckland this week, and the following are her officers : Master, Captain G. B. Morgan ; chief oflicer, Mr. G. D. Frascr; second, Mr. T. Y. Marshall; third, Mr It. F. Dewar. Mr F. J. G. Warren has joined the Tofua as chief oflicer, relieving Mr. R. Huntly for instructions. , Captain H. J. Doyle has been appointed master of the Koromiko, succeeding Captain Duncan Mac Donald, who is on transfer.
