I am informed that Mr. and Mrs. Leyden. in whose washhouse a man was found at night, a few days before my sou's death, consider that the' letter contaius a grave reflection on their conduct. I wish to make it perfectly clear that do reflection whatever was meant to fall on Mr. and Mrs. Leyden. I realise that Mr. and Mrs. Leyden did what they thought was best for my son under the strange and difficult circumstances in which they were placed.
