— I " KID DKOrPERS " AXD " LITTLE I AUGIES." | The appalling crime problem of the United States has received yet another dramatic illustration in a series of 11 murders arising out of a feud between two gangs known in the underworld of Xew York as " Kid Droppers " and " Little Augies." The feud had its origin in the " theft " I of Kid Dropper's sweetheart, Edna Churgin, by Louis Schwartzman, nicknamed "the Midget." Three days after the theft j " the Midget." ns he sat with Edna on a j doorstep, was shot dead. I Dropper, whose real name is Jack Kaplan, was charged with the murder, but was. acquitted. As he left the courthouse he was in turn shot dead. For this crime Louis Cohen, of Little Augie's. gang, is now serving a life sentence. ! The nest to fall was Meyer, Albert, who, after the incarceration of Cohen, aspired to the leadership of Little Augie's men. i Morris Grossman was indicted for shoot- ' ing Albert, but was' acquitted.
