PEDIGREE ATRSHIRES. DISPERSAL SALE. A dispersal sale of pedigree Ayrshire cattle, on behalf of Mr. J. H. Hyland, of otaua, who has leased his farm, and who Intends to settle In Australia, was held on Tuesday. Despite the boisterous weather there was a rair attendance or buyers, and competition was keen for animals revealing good quality. Some of the cattle were in ralr condition. Toe top price. 20gns. was paid Tor the rising flve-year-old cow Tidy of Riverview, by Mr. A. M. Paton, of Clevedon. Other lots ranged rrom ID to lSg-ns, while small and backward In condition sold at figures between ogrns and 9gns. About 60 lots were sold. Fifty fine grade cows sold it ruling , ates. The sale, which was conducted by Messrs. Alfred Buckland and Sods, was satisfactory. TARANAKI OILFIELDS. The manager reports for week ended June 12:— T.irata: Pulled all lojin diamPter cas. inc. HUGE FREIGHT FIGURES. The statement that £3,000,000 wa3 paid to the shipping companies in freight charges by the three New Zealand control boards—meat, dairy produce, and fruit —was made by Mr. T. C. Brash, president or the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation, at a meeting at Hastings.
