A.R.F.U. MATTERS.
REINSTATEMENT OF PLAYERS The following notice of motion was given at last night's meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union by Mr. J. O'Brien: "That, dating from July 1, 1926, the union declines the re-admission of any player who, being over the age of 21 years, leaves the Rugby Union code .to play League, excepting in the special case when such player is living in a district where no Rugby Union football is played at the time of his defection." The resolution will be moved and discusser at the next meeting. It was decided to circularise club secretaries with reference to players' numbers. In future, no player will be allowed on the field without his correct number.
It was decided that the senior competition should conclude at the end of the second round, after which the Pollard Cup competition will, commence. Mr. F. Baker was appointed manager of the Auckland team which will travel to Thames on July 17. Mr. C. Anderson was asked to consider whether he was able to act as manager of the Auckland touring team on its trip through the North Island in August. The Commercial Travellers' Association was granted permission to play a match at the Showgrounds on Saturday. W. A. Laurie was granted a transfer from Ponsonby to Grammar Old Boys. The case of J. R. Malloy (Waiuku), ■will be considered at the next meeting. The committee had previously decided to oppose his application for reinstatement. It may he mentioned that this is not the player in respect to which the North Auckland Union have approached the A.R.F.U.
