HOCKEY DISAGREEMENT.
BREEZE IN TARANAKI PARENT BODY INDICTED. fßjr Telegraph.—Press Association.) ELTHAM, this day. The Taranaki Hockey Association enters a strong protest against th c principle of selecting the New Zealand representative team. It says: (1) That the selectors made no effort to see in action nominees „from small associations; (2) That a selector should himself be included in the representative team; (3) That the merits of smaller associations, as indicated by the scoTes registered against the Indians, has not been considered. It has also decided that the N.Z.H.A. be asked for a definite statement of the arrangements made with Wellington and Taranaki. It contends that the parent body acted above its powers in entering upon a special financial arrangement with any one affiliated association without acquainting all with such arrangement and offering similar conditions, and has decided further that the remitta-nce of financial returns from the Indian Army-Taranaki match to headquarters be withheld pending further information.
