A N.S.W. BUSHRANGER.
SHOTS AT A FARMER. SYDNEY, June 15. An armed man, who is believed to be the one who attacked a commercial traveller in the same locality recently, appeared on a lonely road 30 miles from the township of Collector and accosted a farmer who was driving along the road. The farmer noticed that the man was armed and he drove on. The man then fired three shots after him, but none hit him. A strong force of police is scouring the bush in the locality.— (A. and 2s .Z.) A commercial traveller, who was motoring along a road near the township of Collector, about 22 miles from Goulburn, was called upon to stop by a man on the road on June 0. He did so. As the motorist could get no sense out of the man he presumed he was intoxicated and drove on. Before he had proceeded many yards a shot was fired and a bullet passed through the hood of the car and whizzed over the head of the occupant. The traveller informed the police at Cotlector, and with a constable returned to the spot where he had been stopped. Both men entered the scrub adjoining the road. Suddenly they were startled by the report of a firearm. A bullet passed through the sleeve of the constable's tunic. The flash appeared to be about forty yards away. The two men returned to Collector for additional police. A black tracker was sent from Goulburn to assist in the search for the man who fired the shots.
