LEAGUE OF NATIONS.
WHY BRAZIL SECEDED. LONDON. June 13. A message from Geneva says the Secretariat of the League of Nations has published a Note received from Brazil saying she has resigned from the Council because ;he is of opinion that the League has entirely come under European influence and the domination of the great Powers, and is not directed by any American ideal. Now that both Brazil and Spain have withdrawn the entry of Germany to the League in September is regarded as certain. The diplomatic correspondent of the "Sunday Express" suggests that Spain's secession from the League is not unconnected with Morocco. Spain may return if the present international dictrict of Tangier is eventually included within her Moroccan zone.— (A. and N.Z.)
