WELLINGTON ORGANISATION.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) j WELLINGTON, this day. A conference of representatives of local bodies and social organisations discussed means of meeting the unemployment situation. The Mayor of Wellington considered that the unemployed should be classified, that the able should give a fair day's work for a fair day's pay, and that those unable to do so should be a national responsibility, although the local bodies must bear their share. Two committees were set up—one to consider the commencement of useful relief work, and the other to deal with eases of distress and of those who need immediate assistance.
