The coal strike position is unaltered, but it is generally expected that the compulsory conference, to be held on Monday, will result in a settlement of the trouble. The restrictions placed on gas consumers in Sydney resulted in a reduction of thirty per cent in the gasworks' output. With the arrival of a shipment of coal and a promise of further supplies the restrictions are baing interpreted liberally.—(A. and N.Z.)
VICTORIAN LOAN. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 11. A total'of £41.1100,000 was offered for the Victorian loan of £3,000,000 at 5 per cent issued at O,S\ per cent. The applicants were allotted 7 per cent.— (Sydney "Sun.'')
