OPENING OF PARLIAMENT. CLAIMS TO THE SUDAN. (Received 10.00 a.m.) CAIRO, June 11. King Fuad has opened Parliament. The Speech from the Throne, read by Adly Pasha Yeghen, the Prime Minister, was a masterpiece of ambiguity. It was stated that steps will be taken for the admission of Egypt to the League of Nations. The Government intends to enforce respect for the Constitution and to safeguard the rights of foreigners, and will especially aim to re-establish cordial Anelo-European relations. There was enthusiastic applause when it was announced that Egypt, had not abandoned her claims to the Sudan.— (A. and N.Z.)
