The Speech from the Throne, read by Adly Pasha Yeghen, the Prime Minister, was a masterpiece of ambiguity. It was stated that steps will be taken for the admission of Egypt to the League of Nations. The Government intends to enforce respect for the Constitution and to safeguard the rights of foreigners, and will especially aim to re-establish cordial Anelo-European relations.
