PREVALENT IN WELLINGTON. A PNEUMONIC TYPE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. This week has seen the development of a very unpleasant form of influenza, the result of which is that many city office and warehouse staffs have been depleted. The malady begins with a sudden cold, followed by flooding of the eyes and the nose, and then attacks the chest, causing a hacking cough and great weakness, with a tendency to develop into pneumonia unless it i* properly cared for. It is' stated that, despite reports to the contrary, a very serious form of influenza has been prevalent in Sydney and Melbourne, and that, during the three weeks prior to June 3, there were 36 deaths in Sydney, attributabl- , to the influenza.
