SEVEN BOMBS IN THEATRE.
Twenty people were killed and 150 Injured by bombs thrown by brigands ln a theatre at Hok Shan, Kwangtung, South China. A brigand, chief had demanded £1000 from . the local authorities as the price for immunity from attacks by his band. When the demand was refused he sent a number of his men to a big temporary theatre building during a performance. From positions near the exits the bandits hurled .seven bombs among the audience. A terrible panic ensued and a mad scramble-round the doors. Police were rushed to the scene, but only half a dozen doctors were available ,<and the Injured endured great agony until their wounds could be dressed. Those dead included men, women and children. Fifty persons were seriously hurt by flying fragments from the bombs, and about 100 were trampled upon. All the brigands escaped.
