GOLD IN CANADA.
The value of Canada's grold production is now second only to coal among minerals, and tbe Dominion stands third in the list of world gold producers, surpassed only by the Union of South Africa and the United Stales. Canadian pold production has risen rrom 1,167,000 ounces in 1001 to 1.23a.000 . ounces in 1023. 1.01-T.OOO ounces in 10-i. and 1,730.000 ounces in 1925, Ihe record year. The Province of Ontario now yields nearly SO per cent or Cue Canadian total, against 10 per cent in 1903. and 27 per cent In 1013. This is due largely to the development ol" the gold tields in Northern Ontario.
