A resolution was passed asking that the Director should be accompanied by at least one other educationist upon his tour. Ail application by the Wanganui Teehnieal School Hoard to have the sole control of the institution removed from the Wnnjinniii Wrlueation Board and placed :in control of the Board of Managers alone was discussed at some length. An allegation was made that the present administration was unwieldy. The council decided to refer the matter to a s-mall committee to investigate. The conference passed a remit recommending the Minister to provide regular refresher courses for teacher?. The remit asked that n beginning be made by arranging for training colleges to provide, with the assistance of inpectors and other specialist.*, for fortnightly courses for young teachers who had completed live years" service since leaving college. A remit proposing that in smaller technical high schools the staffing should lie arranged on the basis of one teacher to every 2o pupils was adopted.
