WAIHI SCHOOL DISPUTE.
A CONTESTED ELECTION". (By Telegraph. —Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. The following nominations have been received for the election of the Schools Committee on Thursday next: Jlessrs. F. Barker, J. B. Beeehe, A. H. Blackmore, F. W. Boxall, C. T. Brown, J. Cuncliffe, J. Learmonth, G. Milnes. W. A. Turner. A. Leach, P. itConnell. H. Cotton, and D. Johnston. The first nine were elected at the last annual meeting of householders, but shortly after resigned in a body as a result of the dispute over the question of amalgamation of the District High and South School*. the Board of Education having derided to take a fresh referendum on the question. Messrs. Cotton and Johnston were secretary and chairman respectively of the old committee, anil are no I seeking re-election. The present committee i = acting until the election. The board has notified the secretary that the architect will shortly visit Wai'ni in ,'onnection with the remodel; ing of r ..ie District High School.
