UNEMPLOYMENT.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Is : t not time that something was done by employers to find' out whether the married women in their employ are compelled to earn their living or an , just working for pin money, pianolas, or the money for a trip to England? Many single girls in factories have been dismissed during the latst few months through slackness O-' trade, but the married ones are kept on, not necessarily through their poor circumstances, but because they are friendly with the forewomen. Employers would get a surprise if t ley visited the homes of these women, where nothing in the way of comfort is lacking, while the poor girle, who have been thrown out of work are often the ones on whom their parents depend to keep the rent paid. —I am, etc., LIVE AND LET LIVE.
