LIBERALS AT LOGGERHEADS.
MEETING IN THE HOUSE. LLOYD GEORGE FAVOURED. LONDON, June 9. The split in the ranks of the Liberal Parliamentary party between the supporters of Mr. Lloyd George and those of the Earl of Oxford resulted in a meeting at the House of Commons. Thirtvthree members were present. A letter was read from Lord Oxford saying nothing bad happened to alter the views he had recently expressed criticising Mr. Lloyd George's attitude during the general strike. A resolution to the effect that the Liberal members of the House deprecated the publicity given to the differences of the leaders and hoped for a restoration jof unity, was carried by 20 votes to 10. An amendment to delete the first part of the resolution had previously been rejected by 20 votes to 12. The voting thus favoured Mr. Lloyd George's cause.— (Renter.)
