The first round for the Ryan Cup was played on Saturday on the Papakura Club's links, ideal weather prevailing. The following are the scores : —K. Matheson, 104 — 20—T8; J. On Thursday last about 30 members of the above club took part in a medal round over a course of 18 holes. The heavy rain during the day made conditions for play very unpleasant; and this accounted tor the rather large scored returned, the best being J. O'Neill SS, Lever 90, Smith J-.
