THE CONSULAR CORPS.
ANNUAL DINNER HELD.
The third smnual dinner of the Auckland Consular Corps, created in October, 1923, took place, as in the previous yeare, in a private room of the Grand Hotel on Wednesday night, the eve of the King* Birthday. The Dean, M Paul Serre, Con* sul for France, proposed the usu*» toast to the King, then to tne kings and presidents of the cow tries represented here. Mr. A. M. KernOt proposed a toast to the guest of honour, Mr. Robert Frazer, Consul-General and Inspector of American Consulates, and Mr. Robertson drank to the Dean. Mr. Frazer expressed his thanks, and in • happy speech spoke of the big consular family, whose members are to be found in all parts of the world. In his speech the Dean gave a resume of the activities of the corps for the 'period 1925-26. He made feeling ref«- ---', ences to two members of the corps, J" , G. L. Scansie and Mr. J. W. Hall, wno died during the year. After reminding those present that a new election would take place in October next, he concluded with a humorous consular story. , A few musical items brought a happy evening to a close.
