"OBNOXIOUS AND UNBRITISH."

NELSON, this day. ' The president of the Methodist Conference (Rev. P. Knight) telegraphed the Prime Minister to-day expressing profound appreciation of his outspoken utterance concerning art unions as a. means of raising money for public purposes, and trusting that the law would be tightened up to prevent ''the further spread of these obnoxious and un-British methods."
