THE RUBBER MONOPOLY.
UNCLE SAM'S OUTCRY. A BUSINESS WAR. ' ' (Heceired 9130 a.m.) ' NEW YORK, June 4. According to a memorandum prepared fey Mr. Richard Marsh, rubber expert, for presentation to the Departments of Commerce and War at Washington, powerful British finanoial interests have obtained concessions over practically all the valuable lands in Panama. A special dispatch to the Press of New York says that Mr. Marsh calls on the United States Government, as a clear obligation both to the real interests of Panama and of the United States, to compel . the annulment or modification of these concessions. The chief purpose of the British action, according to Mr. Marsh, is to block the proposed development of rubber growing in Panama by America, whose activities are to the detriment of the British rubber monopoly.— (A. and N.Z.)
