CAMBRIDGE RACECOURSE. EXTENSIVE IMPROVEMENTS. (Ey Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, thii day. The Cambridge Trotting Club's executive yesterday passed plans for alterations and additions to the buildings at the Cambridge Racecourse, involving an expenditure of —2 100. The scheme of improvement includes the erection of an official stand in the new birdcage area, with all weighlng-in, casualty, and other necessary rooms, while the upper storey will provide accommodation for the committee and members. The present public stand is being altered and renovated, and will also be provided with up-to-date luncheon rooms. Outer and inner enclosures are provivded in the scheme, also new entrances, and 125 loose boxes will be provided. The totalisator is being extended 40ft. and it is estimated that the sum of £40,000 will then be conveniently handled. The new grass track, which was put down some months ago, is rapidly materialising, and promises to give an excellent surface. It is expected that this improvement scheme will be completed in three to four months. 1
