LOSS ON CONTRACTS.

A CARPENTER'S. BANKRUPTCY. A special meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of George Charles Strong, carpenter, of Pokeno Valley, near Mercer, was held to-day, Mr. W. S. Fisher, Official Assignee, presiding. The meeting was called at the request of certain creditors who wished to make further inquiry into the bankrupt's affairs. Bankrupt stated that he had lost about £200 on two contracts and had no assets. The bankrupt was examined at some length by the* Official Assignee, and also by creditors. Eventually it was decided that" the bankrupt should submit a statement of his receipts and also of payments made, and a creditor was appointed to go into the accounts.
