(To the Editor.) Sir, —With the best intentions in the ■world your reporter committed mc to sentiments for which I cannot claim responsibility, in hia account of "Mothers' Day." My references to the Mother og Jesus did not extoll perpetual virginity, even by inference, and ■they did conclude with the assertion that that woman of women had become the most tragic figure in all history through the adorations accorded to her. —I am, etc., J.
