The following telegram was received yesterday from the manager of the Albumia mine: " Selected from the ore, broken in the rise, 151b of picked stone, also 51b from ehots fired in the face going hillward footwall portion of the reef." The mane supervisor reported yesterday Bornlsg that the main portion of the reef had been cut across a farther distance of four feet, the first three feet being a band of quartz and country rock. The last foot is a band of quartz similar to the footwall portion, which carried gold, and was heavily mineralised with the same class of pyrlte. The hangingwall country Is mild andesite, carrying strong black mineralised veins, with a • flinty running parallel with the reef. The indications warrant driving on this wall of the reef, as well as the footwall portion. The drive hillward on the footwall branch is taking in portion of the main reef. The footwall branch appears to be widening out, and strong splashes of Sold have been seen. The footwall country carries nice flinty and mineral seams striking Into the reef. MANAGERS' REPORTS. Moanataiari.—'The manager reports that during the week the following work has been carted out. The east crosscut was advanced 20ft. total for contract 120 ft. The country is a little milder, and is interlaced with black mineral seams, and is of the best description. There is about the same •mount of water coming through. The rise on the Caledonia reef was advanced Bft. total 43ft from back of drive. The reef Is lying very flat, and Is wider than the rise, with no hanglngwall showing. The hangingwall Is composed of strong bands of quartz and stringers, and is very hard. The middle and footwall portions of the reef are carrying a fair amount of antimony and iron pyrites in the solid stone. This reef has a decidedly improved appearance. Lucky Shot.—The manager states: "Since last report practically no work has been don& on the face. The men have been timbering and getting ready to drive on the Rueban Parr reef. One hole in the footwall exposed the reef for about 3ft. The quartz broken looks well, and is carrying a fair amount of fine antimony and silica.' The manager adds: "I am confident that It will make gold when driven upon."
