The butter importing firms here have been notified by the Customs Department that they must pay six cents per pound dumping duty on all butter imported from Australia since January 1. | It iB estimated that approximately 1,400,000 pounds of "batter wifli -which, dealers operated, obtaining on an average a one cent margin' of profit, are affected. The rtew or the Government Is eaid to be that the duty is justified because the butter was bought for less than the cost of production in the country of origin.—(Reuter.)
