The statement of finance showed a credit Balance of £36 16/4 and at the savings bank of £330 2/5. . : The Ellerslie, Papaknxa. and Akaroa Clubs Were elected members of the Association. Inquiries were received regarding membership from the Optmake and Kaitala Clubs. The following schedule of dates was ap-pro-red : —Mannwatu. September S, 9. and I 10; Xapier. September 14, 15, 16, and IT; I Hamilton (South Auckland), September 21, -2, 23. and -o ; Wanganui, October 7. S, and 9 ; New Zealand Championship Tournament, October 3 5 to October 23; Seafield, October 23. 25. 26, and 27. It was reso_lved that no entry for the New Zealand "open and amateur champion- j ships will be accepted from a competitor | who has not this year applied for and re- • ceived a certificate of his national handi- \ cap. Applications for national handicaps j must be sent to the secretary not later than September 15. Prize money for the events open to professionals was decided upon as follows: — | Open Championship : £40. £20, £10. £5, £3, and £2 for- the first six respectively. An amateur filling any of these places will receive a trophy, gold, silver, and bronze medals to first, second, and third respec- i tively. Professional Championship (first eight in the open to qualify) : First prize, | £o<l; second. £23; and the two beaten in j the semi-finals. £10 each, a gold medal to the winner, and a silver medal to the ! runner-up. Handicap : First. £25 : second. | £15 : third. £10. Consolation Handicap: ! Authority was given for providing up to £25 j from tile Association's funds, if required, at ! the tournament The winner of the amatenr championship I will receive a gold medal, the rnnner-up a silver medal, and the two beaten in the semi-finals each a bronze medal.
