The Damascus correspondent of the 'Daily Mail" states that fighting is of daily occurrence. Barricades erected by the French in the chief quarters of the city are causing Armenian and Circassian levies in tbe pay of France to resort to indiscriminate firing. Bullets are whizzing day and night, many harmless citizens being killed. The Armenians are committing many atrocities. They are looting and cutting off the hands of women to secure rings and bracelets. ; Rebels frequently, raid the city. Kidnapping notables whom they are. holding for ransom.—(A.-and N.Z. Cable.)
