A MANAGER CHARGED.
ALLEGED MISAPPROPRIATION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, Monday. At the Police Court, Bert Somerville Neiper, former manager at Greymouth for the firm of Messrs. Wilson and Canham, was charged with the theft of various amounts totalling £074 8/5 from his employers, between October, 1923, and February, 1926. Detective Murch said it was alleged that accused had drawn money for his personal use from his employers' account in the National Bank, whereas he was only entitled to operate on the account in the interests of the firm. In order to cover up his actions he had sent fictitious credit notes to the firm's head office purporting to show that the money was to pay for certain produce allegedly received. Accused pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial. Bail in one surety of £500 was allowed.
