Mr. H. R. Hobday left on the Aorangi for America and Eurooe to-day.
Sir Gifford Fox (Liverpool), is a pas sengcr by the Aorangi for Vancouver.
Mr. Alfred S. Bankart was to-day appointed a director of the Auckland Gas Company.
Mr. A. R. Shepard arrived from Sydney to-day by the Marama, and is at the Star Hotel.
Sir Alexander Mathieson, New Zealand correspondent for the " Morning Post," is visiting Christchurch.
Mr. W. F. Sedgebeer, of Sydney, who arrived by the Marama, is at the Central Hotel.
Mr. D. A. Aaken, general manager of the Union Steamship Company, is on a brief visit to Auckland.
Dr. Gregory Sprott, chief medical officer of Tasmania, is a passenger by the Aorangi, which sailed for Vancouver to-day.
His Honor Mr. Justico Reed will arrive in Auckland on Thursday. He will take the Supreme Court sittings in the absence of Mr, Justice Herdman.
Mr. A. A. Nattrass, of Wellington, is at present in Auckland on a short visit and is staying at Avonhyrst, Symonds Steet.
Mr. Percy Hunter, of the Pacific Cable Board, arrived from Sydney last evening by the Aorangi and is at Hotel Cargen.
Mr. Justice Herdman and Mrs. Herdman returned from Rotorua on Saturday, and left for Wellington on Sunday evening.
Mr. E. Anderson (Remuera) returned by the Limited this morning from Wellington, where he arrived by the Tahiti yesterday, after six weeks in the Society Islands.
Mr. W. S. McDermott, proprietor of the Melbourne "Graphic," and his wife and daughter were passengers by the Aorangi for Suva. They will return to Auckland by the Niagara and will tour the Dominion.
Mr. Albert Spencer, -president of the Auckland Employers' Association, left for Wellington by the Limited last evening. He w r as accompanied by Mr. J. W. Jaggs, senior vice-president of the association.
Mr. William Pickering, president of the Cronulla Life Saving Club, and a prominent professional man of Cronulla, New South Wales, arrived by the Marama from Sydney this morning on a holiday visit to New Zealand.
Among the guests staying at tbe Star Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Barr (Melbourne), Mr. T. G. Bennett (Hobart), Mr. W. G. Coon (U.S.A.), Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Williams (New South Wales), Mr. and Mrs. J. Sutton (NewSouth Wales), Mr. G. H. Paape and Mr. G. A. Neven (Wellington).
Central Hotel guests include Mr. A. Critts (Melbourne), Air. R. S. Tagg (Sydney), Mr. J. Anderson (Dunedin). Mr, J.Samuel (Sydney), Mr. R. Robertson (Melbourne), Mr. E. Mcllraith (Sydney), Mr. and Mrs. J. Maurer (Whangarei), and Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Smith (Taihape).
Mr. and Mrs. J. A. C. Munro, formerly of Calcutta, were passengers by the Marama, which arrived to-day. They travelled to Australia via the East, spending a short time in Java. They will tour the Dominion, and leave by the Niagara on her next trip for England. They will visit friends 'in Canada, en route. During their stay in Auckland Mr. and Mrs. Munro are guests at the Grand Hotel.
