The proposal to form a Waikato Acclimatisation Society is fully dealt with in the report. The regulations of the Auckland society have, however, now been altered, so that four council meetings a year, and one annual meeting every three years are now held in towns south of Mercer.
In the course of the year two new clubs have been formed, one at Rangiriri and the other at Raglan. This now makes a total of 29 branches.
Last year the number of shooting licenses sold was 2374, showing a considerable increase on previous years. The financial position of the society shows a marked improvement, the revenue bavins: exceeded the expenditure by £226. The credit balance in the bank 'has now amounted to £817 10/. There is, however, £417 owing to creditors, and approximately 315 more pheasants to be paid for on delivery.
