CRUSHED TO DEATH.

THAMES, this day,
The inquest hold to-day on Mr. Joseph Douglas, who was killed at Tapu yesterday, showed that deceased was steering a traction engine when the road gave way, and it was precipitated into theTapu Creek. The other occupant of the cab had a narrow escape, sustaining a cut oa his bead. Deceased was found under the rear wheel, terribly crushed, death being instantaneous. . A verdict of accidental death waa returned.
