INQUEST TO FOLLOW.

WAIHI, this day.

Mr. John Kurnoy (59), employed by the Public Works Department on the railway construction works at Tuapiro, near Katikati, died in the Waihi Hospital last evening. Mr. Kurncy. who is an old resident of Waihi and who had a farm in Mntaura Valley, was admitted to the hospital on 31st March, suffering from a severe wound in the neck and a broken collarbone, said to have been caused by the breaking of a winch handle when engaged in hauling operations on the works.

Serious results wore not at first anticipated, but the condition of the injured man became precarious on Saturday, and internal injuries were suspected. A post mortem will be made and a coronial inquiry γ-ill follow. • .
