COASTAL STEAMER DELAYED.

DISPUTE ON THE MAKO.

As a result of a dispute which arose last evening, the Richardson Line steamer Mako was unable to sail for Portland, and this afternoon she was still at the King's wharf.

Details of the trouble are meagre, but it is understood that the question in dispute is one of overtime. The local agents of the vessel, Messrs. Watkin and Wallace, stated this afternoon that the matter had been referred to the company's office at Napier, and that an early reply was expected. In the meantime the Mako, which trades between Auckland and East Coast ports, is timed to sail for Portland at midnight to-night.
