A laroro two-storey house at Opouriao, owned "sind occupied liy -Mr. Walter Sisam. was entirely destroyed by lire last nijrlit. its occupants scarcely having time to escape. Xotliinj; was saved. Tim building was a large one, costing £10011 to liuild. It was insured in the N'cw Zealand Insurance Co. There was no insurance on the furniture, and .Mr. Si-am . was a heavy lostT. his losses ineluilinjr a number of sporting trophiee. There is no clue as to the origin of the fire.
