ALLIANCE AND PROHIBITION.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —In reply to "CM.'s" criticism, I presume he is referring to the convention held recentlj- in Auckland, at which I was a visitor. If I remember rightly, an appeal was made to the Churches for spiritual help. I certainly wonder sometimes what people expect from an organisation. Being one of their numerous "voluntary" helpers, I have a great respect for the plucky crowd that are banded together in one common bond. But why the bitterness, my friend? Infidels and Mormons, after all, are human beings, are they not? — I am, etc., X.M.M.
