YACHTING.
TAMAKI YACHT CLUB. The Tamakl Yacht Club will hold their first regatta on Easter Monday. All events will start and finish off Kohimarama, between the end of the Kohimarnma wharf and launch Maroro moored north. The events include a general handicap, open to all comers, starting at 11 a.m. .The M, V, S, Star and 14-foot classes will race during the afternoon, all courses being in full view of the Kohimarama and St. Helier's beaches. .Good prizes are offered in each class, the 'committee having met with very encouraging support from the residents of both districts. In view of the uncertainty of the weather all events have been thrown open for post entries, which will be received up to one hour before starting time of each race. This will enable all who may wish to take part to enter on the day. The handicaps will be declared before the start. Side shows, consisting of dinghy, swimming and other water events will be held on the beach during the afternoon, this part of the programme being in charge of the Tamaki Fire Brigade. The following are the details of the races :— General handicap, yachts, all comers, to start at 11 a.m. Course, from starting line, round Bastion light beacon, thence outside Bean Rock, thence round beacon below Rangitoto wharf, thence round mark boat moored north-east of St. Helier's reef, thence round mark boat moored north of St. Helier's wharf, finishing at starting line, keeping all marks on starboard hand. First prize, cup to be won outright, presented by Mr. C. M. Gray; second £3, third £2. Alexa scr, Lucille 3m, Otira 3m, Lovelight sm, Mowai 7m, Rahiri Bm, Ma hi a Sin, Louisa 10m, Maroro 12m, Mollie 12m, Manene 12m, June 14m, Wild Wave 15m, Kismet 20m, Loraleigh 26m, Jupiter 29m, Bronzewing 33m, Eleanor 33m, Gladys 33m, Sea Nymph 37m, Cynic 3Sm 30s, Chelma 44m, and post entries. Speed boats' handicap, to start at 2 p.m. Course, from starting line round Bastion light beacon, thence outside Bean Rock, thence round mark boat moored north-east of St. Helier's reef, thence round mark boat moored north of St. Helier's wharf, to starting line, twice round, keeping all marks to starboard. Spot scr, Ngaro scr, Miss X scr, and post entries. General handicap for M, V and Star classes, to start at 2.30 p.m. Course, same as speed boats, twice round. Ola IV. scr, Maroro 4m, Mollie 4m, Manene 4m, June om, Wild Wave Sin, and post entries. S class handicap, to start at 2.45 p.m. Course, same as speed boats, twice round. Lancia scr, Waitui 6m, Gladys 10m, and post entries. General handicap for T, X, V and Z classes, to start at 3 p.m. Course, from starting line round Bastion light beacon, thence outside Bean Rock, thence round mark boat moored north of St. Helier's wharf and back to starting line, twice round, keeping all marks-to starboard. Alert scr, Kismet 2m, Ngaio 4m, Sea Breeze sm,' Loraleigh 7m, Jupiter 10m, Bronzewing 13m, Eleanor 13m, Sea Nymph 16,' Cynic 17m, Chelma 22m, and post entries. Launches, cruising, to start at 3.30 p.m. Course, same as speed boats. Caprice and post entries. Speed Boats.—The owner of Spot is willing to race any other speed boat off 'the mark, provided the course is made in smooth water close to the beach. The committee has agreed to this alteration of course* A race will be added for classes L and N, starting at 3.30 p.m., if their are sufficient entries. All races will start on the five-flag method.
