A FIRE-RIDDEN TOWN.

WATROA WATCTNfo UP. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WAIROA (H. 8.), this day. A largely attended, public meeting last night decided to form a fire brigade. The recently-formed Fire Board has also decided to acquire a suitable site for the erection of a fire station, and will purchase fire-fighting appliances. Captain Hugo, of Wellington, addressed the meeting, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for the useful information he gave. It was further decided to request a magisterial inquiry into the circumstances of the last two fires, as the opinion is freely expressed that there is a "firebug" about.
