Evidence of the value of newspaper advertising is contained in a statement concerning Christmas gramophone record sales issued by the Columbia Company. During December the record number of 1,650,000 discs were manufactured in the London factory and delivered to the trade—nearly a quarter of a million more than during December, 1924. "Last month," said the managing director jof the company, "more money was spent in gramophone advertising than in any single month before, and the expenditure' was justified tenfold."
