Rapid progress has been made with the reconstruction of Kaurimu, the iittle township tucked away at the foot of the spiral, on the Main Trunk line, which was devastated by fire on the afternoon of December 14. These two views show how rebuilding is taking place, and how the c! arred- limbers and debris are being replaced by homes and shop 3. The tent in the foreground of the lower picture was until recently the residence of Mrs. McDonald, of McDonald's Railway Hotel, one of the many buildings swept away by the fire. .
